What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

The first Christmas in their tiny Pittsburgh apartment, Uncle Doug bought a tree so big it scraped the ceiling. But the real magic happened at Grandma’s—where my Dad broke their ‘no gifts’ rule, like only a Christmas lover would. My mom and entire family gasped when she saw those sleek brown boots? Priceless. Loved ’em so much she slept in them that night. Boots peeking under the covers. Sixty-three years later, those boots still stroll through family stories. Proof that their love was staying.

What would you do with $20,000?

My parents’ greatest mission? Securing our family home for their handicapped grandson, whom they lovingly adopted 17 years ago. They’ve spent decades adapting the house—ramps, handrails, and open spaces—so he can live safely and independently. His laughter fills these walls, and his sister’s love strengthens them.
