Connect How did your love story begin?

Our love story started while attending Dekalb College in 1992. We were formally introduced by Qiandra "Nikki" Ellis while riding the Marta bus from school. Nikki introduced him as "Calvin" until Cayward asked why we were calling him Calvin. While attending Dekalb College as friends, we would, study together, enjoy lunch in the student center, and meet up at the pool. We remained dear friends until day when love made us more than friends.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory was our time when we were swimming at the pool at Dekalb College. After playing a few racing games, Cupid's arrow of love struck our hearts and things changed between us. As we both graduated from Dekalb, we went on to continue our education at Georgia State University. After completing Associates Degrees, we continued being friends until June 27, 1993, where we made our love commitment official. We were married on July 1, 2000. The rest is history!

What would you do with $20,000?

When we win the $20,000, we will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary with a well-deserved vacation. We will use the money to publish our books on self-care and marriage, and finally launch our blog centered on exploring what true love looks like in the 21st century. This will represent more than just a win, but an avenue to begin the next chapter in this amazing marriage journey that God has blessed us with.
