How did your love story begin?

Evan and I met in the most fitting way—at a hockey rink. He’ll joke that I didn’t notice him until he shaved his beard into a mustache (he’s not wrong). I was the loud, chatty girl on skates; he was the quiet guy flying under the radar. That moment sparked something unexpected and wonderful, but it took a few months of playful banter and slow-burning connection before anything really happened. Then one snowy night, I gave him a not-so-subtle ultimatum: ask me out or don’t. He did—with a kiss.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of our favorite memories is a sunset skin up Baldy with Murray after a weekend of pond hockey. I’d just taken a stick to the face, gotten stitched up, and played through—bruise and all. That weekend, less than a month in, Evan asked me to be his girlfriend—despite saying early on that his fear was “women wanting to label things too soon.” That moment, under pink skies and with frozen lips, felt like us—unexpected, a little banged up, but completely right.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’d use $20,000 to create a shared space that actually fits us—two adults and one big dog in a tiny condo isn’t cutting it. We’d invest in smart storage, small renovations, and maybe even a new place to start building a real life together. It’s time Evan got his own closet, and we’d love to make room for the future we’re ready to grow into—under one roof, in one town, with enough space to breathe, build, and just be home. Plus, hopefully save some for an overseas adventure!
