We went on a date when he was the freshman basketball coach where I coach volleyball. We knew each other prior, but didn’t officially start dating until he moved and took a coaching job out of town. He was in-town scouting a game I was at, we went out and have been together ever since. He always told his family and friends that he was going to marry me someday and he did!

The birth of our 3 children are obviously on top. But our favorite trip/memory, just the two of us, was when he turned 40, I surprised him with a trip to Boston. We toured the city, sang Sweet Caroline in the rain at a Red Sox game, ate lobster and just enjoyed each others company. We both spend so much time with other people‘s kids with teaching and coaching that we truly cherish moments that we can share by ourselves, but also with our three children.

As high school teachers and coaches. We don’t make a whole lot of money. Our kids are all involved in sports and travel ball and we struggle to pay for some of those things. We’ve never been able to feel like we have our heads above water when it comes to finances. We try to give our kids every opportunity we can, but we sacrifice in other areas to be able to do that. Having $20,000 would give us some cushion room, pay off our cars and do a really nice family vacation.
