Connect How did your love story begin?

I broke my elbow after I was assaulted in Europe. Back in Florida, I would meet Nick, my new physical therapist. He was smart, funny and handsome, but also frustratingly unreadable. Unsure how to proceed, I asked my friends for advice, and they said shoot your shot. So when I was down to my last few sessions, I got the courage to write my number on his business card and I handed it to him as I left the clinic.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We’d been on a few dates and still hadn’t kissed or held hands. We were taking it slow, purposely. One day she had something important to tell me, but I never expected what came next. It took real courage for her to open up, and I wanted to respond in a meaningful way. So I said, “I could say a lot of words, but I’d rather show you.” I knew then it was time. Without hesitation, I held her hand. It was a small gesture, but one that clearly said I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’d spend it on experiences that continue to nurture both our individual growth and our bond as a couple. Adventures like learning a new language, expanding our palates, taking dance lessons, and investing in our physical and mental health. These shared adventures would deepen our connection while honoring who we each are, helping us grow stronger and healthier together, yet still celebrating our individuality.
