20 years apart, but full of laughter, love, and big dreams. From art studios to vineyards—we’re building a beautiful life together.
We would like to thank you for supporting Amanda and christopher in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
I was a waitress at a restaurant in Oregon where my now-husband frequented. He had a silent crush on me for a year, but never asked me out, being 20 years older. After buying a home in Kentucky, he was about to move, so I told him to ask me out. We dated long-distance, briefly split in the summer, but reconnected over Thanksgiving. By Christmas, we were engaged. Now, we live happily in Kentucky.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? Our favorite memory was when we eloped. We planned to get married on a cruise ship to Italy and Greece (this was early 2020). With Covid on the rise, we settled on driving to Savannah Georgia and having our elopement there. The wedding was perfect and intimate. The day after our nuptials the world shut down. We spent our first full days as a married couple adjusting to the new norm. We had each other and that was all we needed.
What would you do with $20,000?With the winnings, I’d help fulfill my husband’s lifelong dream of starting a vineyard. At 54, he’s stuck in a job he despises—I want to give him the chance to finally live the life he’s always imagined.
