Some love stories begin with fireworks—ours started with a treadmill. Alexis, immersed in her morning routine, caught Grey’s eye. He ran miles trying to time his exit, but she stayed. Determined, he made one last move—only to tumble off the treadmill. Breathless but hopeful, he rushed after her. A simple "Excuse me, miss..." turned strangers into soulmates. Living just doors apart, we found joy in trail runs, home-cooked meals, and endless laughter. Every day since has been an adventure.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory is training for our first marathon together—waking at 5 AM, lacing up in the dark, and running miles before the world woke up. Some mornings were quiet, others filled with laughter, but every step reminded us we were chasing something bigger. Side by side, we pushed through challenges and proved love is about showing up—mile after mile, hand in hand. That journey led to our engagement at the Charlotte Marathon, the finish line of one chapter and the start of another.

What would you do with $20,000?

Winning this $20K prize would not only bring our dream wedding to life but also expand our impact on those in need. Previously, we organized a sack lunch event in San Jose, but with this support, we can provide haircuts, hygiene essentials, and full meals to the homeless—offering dignity, care, and hope. Love drives everything we do, and this funding would help us create another powerful event, reaching even more people in need.
