I went to a party with friends across from the hospital where I was a nurse. It was his going away party. He was leaving the prosecutors office to join a law firm. I told him “You gave a beautiful speech, it made me cry, and I don’t even know you, and I like your name.” He asked my name, “Alex” I replied. That was his name too. It really was love at first sight. We married a year later.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?This was a tough question, because there are so many. Alex and I watch the Perseid meteor shower every year around his birthday in August. 2016 was expected to be one of the best so we decided to stay up all night to see how many we could count. Shooting stars with tails, double shooting stars, we tag teamed and kept count of how many we saw that night, 523. It was such a breathtaking night and we were able to enjoy it together.
What would you do with $20,000?We divide our time between the USA and Costa Rica. We love the beauty of nature and the slower pace of life. We help 2 causes in Costa Rica. 1. Children: by helping our schools with equipment and supplies they desperately need and 2. Stray dogs are abundant and there are very few shelters and spaying clinics available to help them. We would like to be able to help both groups.
