Connect How did your love story begin?

Talise & Alex first met in Idaho at college. After spotting Alex, Talise knew this would be the man she would marry. Captivated by his dimples & smile, she invited him over to her apartment to play games. Quickly becoming friends, they moved towards a romance full of adventure & fun. He saw her green eyes & energetic demeanor & knew he was in it for the long haul. After 5 years, COVID-19, long distance, 2-year humanitarian trips each to a different country, they moved to Hawaii & got married.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Their most memorable adventure was when Talise took Alex to Brazil for the first time to meet her extended family. They started in Sao Paulo where he met her family & ate the best BBQ he's ever had in his life. They then made a trip to Rio de Janeiro where they saw Christ the Redeemer, one of the 7 wonders of the world. He learned more about the country, language & culture that are so dear to her. They even shared a New Year's Kiss on the beach while fireworks rained down around them.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would use the money for fertility treatments. We have been unsuccessfully trying to grow our family & conceive a bundle of joy for years. We have worked & saved hard to stay out of debt while undergoing various fertility procedures on top of the cost of being in university, but as we are faced with larger bills for IUl & IVF in the future we are in need of some help. These funds would be a saving grace to help us to finally fulfil our biggest dreams of becoming a mom & dad.
