We met on a medical brigade in Ecuador. Two hearts that found each other, braved the distance, and are now united in love and marriage.

Alec traveled to Ecuador with a medical brigade from his college. I joined as a translator. He was applying to med school, and I was already a medical student in Ecuador, though studying in another city. We saw each other on the first day and immediately felt a connection, but it took time before we could finally speak. When we did, we both knew we didn’t want to let that connection go.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?A few months after we met, we reunite, a proof that our love was real and strong enough to overcome the distance. Alec flew to Ecuador and spent two unforgettable months in my city. We shared everyday moments, explored new places, and built memories that deepened our bond and confirmed we were meant to be.
What would you do with $20,000?We survived the long distance, cultural differences and more. The prize money would help us plan the wedding we’ve dreamed of, something we couldn’t afford as medical students. It would also support my journey toward applying for a medical residency in the U.S. Alec & Carol
