We met in November 1988 at a club in Brooklyn. At first, I didn't want to give him the time of day—lol—but he was persistent. He kept trying to talk to me, asking about my high-school. Eventually, I started a conversation. Later, he showed up at the bus stop in his dad's car to drive me home, wanting to get to know me better. We got engaged on June 16, 1992—my college graduation day—and married August 28, 1994. We've been soulmates ever since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memory is celebrating our 25th anniversary and vow renewal at Sandals Antigua. We woke to a gloomy day, still grieving our dads who had passed two weeks apart. But as we prepared to renew our vows, the sun broke through the clouds, making the day perfect. In that moment, we felt our dads' presence and love surrounding us. It was one of the most beautiful and meaningful days of our lives, and we had the best time celebrating together.
What would you do with $20,000?We probably would go on an amazing vacation with our three children, whom we are incredibly proud of. We truly cherish family vacations and the memories we create together, knowing firsthand that life is a precious gift—and it can be taken from us at any moment. These moments remind us to appreciate every second and hold our loved ones close, making every trip a treasured experience.
