Our moms worked together and thought we’d be a perfect match. We went out, but he was so shy I wasn’t sure he was interested—so I let it go. A year later, I reached out while he was deployed. We texted for the long 7 months he was gone and got to know each other very well, dated for 3 months before he proposed, and got married 4 months after that! Now we say, when you know it’s right, you just know.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?On our honeymoon in Glacier National Park, we rented a tiny motorboat you can’t move a lot in to cruise the lake. Tawni’s was uncomfortable, so she went to switch spots—and we nearly crashed! We still laugh about it to this day. From mountain biking to camping adventures (including one where cops used our trailer for an interrogation!), life’s thrown us curveballs—but we always have each other’s backs, and that’s what really matters.
