Liberal + conservative, different in so many ways—but love, empathy, and respect keep us strong. We choose us every time.
We would like to thank you for supporting Adam and Tanya Boizelle in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Adam and I met online—we never matched on Tinder, but he added me on Snapchat. I had just moved from Mexico to the U.S. as an au pair to learn English, never expecting to fall in love. My English was terrible, but he was patient. We started dating, and two years later, we got married. It hasn’t been easy—we’ve faced traumas, political differences, and cultural gaps—but with love, therapy, and empathy, we’ve grown stronger together every day.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Definitely our wedding! It felt like a dream. The trip with my family from Mexico to NYC right after was unforgettable. Adam was so tired he crashed the car the day after—thankfully his dad helped! After NYC, we had a mini honeymoon in Florida, just the two of us. We ate, slept, swam, and enjoyed being newlyweds. It was simple, perfect, and exactly what we needed after all the excitement.
What would you do with $20,000?Adam and I bought a condo in 2023. We plan to keep updating it and making improvements to make it feel more like home—like changing some windows, updating the bathrooms, and replacing old furniture.
