How did your love story begin?

Our stour began in the fall of 2001. Ari was an incoming freshman and Adam was a super senior with one year of NCAA eligibility left. We were both on the SUU track team recruited for our love for pain. We were middle distance runners. One day after practice, Adam challenged Ari to a race and told her that if he lost, he owed her a date. It was a win-win situation because Adam threw the race and a date was won. Adam proposed at the outdoor conference championships the following spring.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

This is so hard to pinpoint just one. We haven’t had grand adventures as a couple. We grew up in the LDS Church & followed life as it was mapped out for us. In 2021, we decided that we no longer believed in it & we left together as a couple & family. That was a life-changing moment that has opened a world for us & our kids. Choosing to leave a high demand religion has given us the gift of self. That single shared moment, we hope, will give freedom of thought and self for generations to come.

What would you do with $20,000?

Our 11-year-old says he’d buy Robucks, & the others want theme park passes & a trip to Disneyland, but as a couple, we’d like to invest in a business together. For the past 20 years, Adam has been a PE teacher & Ari has been a SAHM, freelance journalist & recently a kindergarten teacher. We scrape & save & would love to make supplemental income so that we can be secure when grandchildren come - which may not be too far off. And hopefully go to Disneyland :)
