Connect How did your love story begin?

Aaron and I met three times—once in eighth grade, again in 11th, and finally two years after high school. We didn’t speak for those two years, only to sync again when the time was right, both transferring to the same college. From there, friendship grew into love. We’ve been through school, distance, and life changes together. It’s been almost nine years now. No, we’re not engaged yet, and there’s no rush.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We were hiking one of the Catskills 3500 peaks—my first, his third or fourth. I was exhausted, joking he should leave me and call the rangers, but he stayed by my side, encouraging me the whole way. The view at the top was beautiful, but not as much as knowing we did it together. Over a cold beer back at camp, we knew: there’s no one else we’d rather face the hard stuff with. Our love conquers mountains, and always keeps going.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we won $20,000, we’d pay down student debt, take a romantic trip, and conquer a challenging hike, just like we always do, side by side. Maybe, just maybe, a question would be popped. And with what’s left, we’d plan our dream wedding, surrounded by the friends and family who’ve watched our love grow from friendship to forever.
