Connect How did your love story begin?

It began in 6th grade math class in our hometown middle school. I sat in the 2nd to last row (Annelisa) and he (DJ) sat right behind me in the last row. One day during class the local police brought in an K-9 unit because someone brought in something they shouldn’t have. I was standing next to her in the hallway when they pulled our classes out, and I talked to her about softball because I didn’t know how to talk to her at 12 years old. Everyday since then we have been inseparable.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

That’s a hard one because everyday with each other is our favorite!! I think the one that stands out the most is our first Christmas together. We started dating in December 2023 and spent everyday together. One night we were baking cookies and Annelisa passed gas and looked at me so embarrassed like all I could do was laugh. Well, I was a little embarrassed but all I could do was laugh and we couldn’t stop for 15 mins because it was so funny. I never belly laughed that hard in a long time!

What would you do with $20,000?

What we would do with $20,000 is tithe it to our church. Pay for any debts we have, and put it towards a wedding. Since I (Annelisa) am playing college softball I don’t work, DJ works very hard for us and I could never repay him in such a way but I know it would take some stress off of him and our families. $20,000 would help us in ways we wouldn’t imagine.
