Connect How did your love story begin?

We met in 1995 at Montgomery Wards in Eureka CA. I was 19 and he was 24. He was super shy, I noticed he used to bring all his warehouse loads out through my dept area even if it wasn’t for me. He had these amazing blue eyes and was built like a GOD. His smile was gentle and his eyes were kind. On our first date he spoke of his family and his pets and for me that was a good sign. In the 5 hours we spent together it was like we had known each other our whole lives.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

The way we met is by far a favorite memory. My best friend wanted to go meet the guys in the warehouse and decided to hide in an empty refrigerator box to go to the compactor. I was her eyes and walked her back there. Jeff was sitting at a desk, stood up and smiled and that was it for us. Love at first sight. Instantly connected, like magnets. She eventually excused herself as we continued to talk. He was shy and I was smitten. I asked him out and we have been inseparable ever since.

What would you do with $20,000?

Since my diagnosis with incurable MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and TN (Trigeminal Neuralgia) in 2017 and gamut of other medical issues we’ve decided to try and live our best lives. I had to medically retire in 2019 due to progression of my MS. I am not able to do much anymore. It would be great to make some home improvements that would be more conducive to my disability and allow me to have some in home support to take the load off of our family, who are my caregivers.
