Connect How did your love story begin?

In August 2002, we met in church for the first time, had our first date on September 9, 2002, and were married on November 22, 2002. A marriage that wasn’t supposed to make it—especially with blending families. What started as a second chance became a sacred fight for forever. Through personal loss, family dynamics, and one major health battle, each chapter refined us and forged the mission we now carry together.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory isn’t one moment—it’s the 22-year redemption arc. From tension to tenderness, hospital rooms to healing retreats, we’ve found laughter in chaos, strength in silence, and joy in rebuilding. The day we sat on stage, side by side—not broken but whole—sharing our journey to help others, was a full-circle moment of love, purpose, and proof that what was once fractured is now fiercely unshakable.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’d invest it into our nonprofit, Pathways to Triumph—supporting stroke survivors, caregivers, and families navigating life after trauma. From therapy access to transportation, adaptive tools, and caregiver relief, we fill the gap insurance won’t. We’ve lived this journey—now we build what we wish existed. This isn’t charity—it’s redemption turned mission, and every dollar fuels real, lasting recovery.
