Connect How did your love story begin?

Adam and I met in our freshman year of high school. We were on our freshman hiking trip, he was resting on the ground and I randomly decided to sit next to him. We had never talked before. Our first conversation set our entire relationship in stone. Halfway through the year my family moved several states away, taking me with them. On my last day of school before leaving, I ran up to him, gave him the biggest hug and my phone number. We were long-distance for five years, visiting when allowed.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

On our three-year anniversary, we met in Ireland. We planned to see the Cliffs of Moher, but the buses were on strike, so we decided we could bike there instead. It was fifty miles round trip, the way there was uphill and it was raining. Collapsing upon arrival, the cliffs were covered in fog. Just as we were about to leave in defeat, the fog lifted, offering the most beautiful reward. We coasted in victory back to our hostel. We could barely move the next day but we wouldn’t change a thing.

What would you do with $20,000?

Twenty thousand dollars would change our quality of life. We had been living in our 1998 CR-V, for half a year, before acquiring an RV, named Louise, that still needs desperate help. I am disabled, we have two dogs, and my partner is my only caretaker and support. We need funds to renovate (flooring, new ceiling, refrigerator, mattress, cabinets, new shower, new tires, generator, and help with labor) and a place to put it. This could change everything and give us a home.
