Our unique teamwork gets us through anything. We support each other equally and love each others' complete selves. True best friends.
We would like to thank you for supporting Stringkim in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We met practicing martial arts in a biomedical engineer's garage. Both of us were on a quest to find the right martial art and the right instructor, and somehow, we ended up at the same place. For twenty years, we have laughed and trained together. It wasn't until our nineteenth year of friendship that we introduced the romance. We both found ourselves divorced and realized that being with each other was the best thing we could hope for in life.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Building a knife throwing wall in the backyard! Andrew used his skills as a builder to create the structure, and Leslie used her experience as a rock climber to rig a nearby tree and raise it. We easily completed a job that should have taken four men to do! Andrew invited his martial arts students over to practice, and we still use the wall almost every day. We are most proud of the creative projects we've completed together.
What would you do with $20,000?$20,000 would be a huge help in fixing our home. We live in a home that Leslie's mother purchased four decades ago as a fixer upper, but never fixed up. We've done a lot on our own, but can't move forward without the help of professionals. We also teach martial arts students in our backyard and would love to provide a better space for them!
