Ryan & I met after our spouses passed away from brain cancer in 2010. He blogged about his cancer journey from OK and I blogged about mine in Michigan. A stranger from PA who followed both of our blogs reached out & suggested that I "check out this guy's blog" because he wasn't doing very well after the loss of his wife. I checked out his blog & left a comment & woke up to an email from Ryan. That email turned into many more, & we were married in April of 2011 with our 7 children beside us.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Ryan and I took a leap of faith after we were married & moved our new big family to rural TN. We completely renovated an old house on 30 acres of land. We raised chickens & planted gardens & preserved our produce & lived & loved & grieved our loses in this new land with rich red soil. We bonded as a family here, & we were blessed give birth to our 8th and final child here as well. Both of these endeavors - renovating this huge property & having an 8th child were big acts of faith.
What would you do with $20,000?We have a dream to open more group homes for disabled adults like the one we created for our son Lucas and three of his friends. $20,000 would be a great down payment to accomplish this dream.
