How did your love story begin?

Our first meeting is identical to the scene from the 1995 movie, "Before Sunrise." We were both reading books on the train, and Maggie turned to Ben and asked, "What are you reading?" After talking briefly, we discovered that we are both classical musicians, and that, coincidentally, we were both headed to Colorado soon. We talked online, and eight weeks later, we met up to hike a 13er in Aspen. We dated long-distance and eventually moved in together in Boulder, Colorado.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Maggie: It's impossible to narrow down, so here's one of many fun stories. Ben is a composer, and I am a pianist. I commissioned him to write a piece for a recital tour I was playing, and the deadline was approaching quickly. Ben wrote an entire piece on a 3-hour plane ride and emailed me the score when he landed! It's one of my favorite pieces of music on that program. Ben: My favorite memory together is the 10-mile hike to Grinnell Glacier in Glacier National Park. We got engaged there!

What would you do with $20,000?

The first expense this money will cover is our wedding. In 2026, we plan to get married in Rocky Mountain National Park, with a dinner and reception in Boulder, Colorado—the first place we ever lived together. Then, it will help us plan our honeymoon, which we will schedule around the music gigs we both have during the rest of the summer. The remaining money will go towards our house and piano fund, as we prepare to buy our forever home with enough space for each of us to have a music studio.
