Our love story began on the campus of Texas Southern University as I was walking across the campus in my red dress and high heels. He called my name. I was not interested but looked up and saw a very handsome young man walking towards me with haste! We haven’t stopped being together from that day forward. We are inseparable. We graduated together as educators had a daughter who shares our wedding anniversary because she was there saying I Do along side of us. Our story continues with 3 boys.

We have several favorite memories: children being born, purchasing a house, traveling with our kids, being on family feud but as a couple freely traveling by car to four states with no specific destination. We sung all the songs playing in the car, gossiped about everything, prayed, made plans for our next move/vacation, visited the casino, laughed, visited friends, and called everyone along the way. Just being together is important to our relationship of 35 years. We pray to have 35 more years.

With the 20K, we would pay our tithes, and take our children (spouses and grands) on a complete family vacation. We would also set up a scholarship in honor of our oldest son who passed away at the age of 21 of a rare kidney disease at the university he attended one semester short of his graduation. If there’s any left, we will invite family and friends to a cook out at our home to celebrate each other in all of the accomplishments we’ve all had, play games and fellowship with each other.
