We were married in 1995. I knew we were a match made in heaven but who knew I would be a match for his lifesaving kidney transplant.
We would like to thank you for supporting Cj and Chris Coppola in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We both worked at a local newspaper, remember those? He was the reporter covering our state legislature and I was the office manager. One day in spring, a coworker and I were playing hooky in the afternoon to attend a spring training baseball game. That morning he walked by me I just asked him if he wanted to go with us. He said yes! We were inseparable after that.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? The smart answer might be the day our son was born but it is really the day he came home from the hospital after the kidney transplant. Our three kids were there, my sister had hung a banner on our garage door and we spent the day with our family and pizza. The greatest day of my life.
What would you do with $20,000?We have outrageous medical bills from the transplant so the responsible thing would be to pay them first but my husband losing his kidney function, being on dialysis for three years, and then finally being approved for a kidney transplant - from his wife no less - has taught us the life is so short and there is no time to waste. We would love to visit Italy where my husband’s parents were from and I would love to visit Ireland where my grandparents are from.
