We are high school sweethearts and have been together for 8 years now. We’re best friends and have grown up together since we were 17.
We would like to thank you for supporting Austin and Katie in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We had known of each other all throughout high school, but junior year Katie had a huge crush on Austin after he parked a few cars down from her. Senior Year rolls around and we had our a had a class together. Austin reached out in twitter and we made a plan to hang out and watch Harry Potter together. From that day on, we talked constantly and have been together ever since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memory together is our first camping trip we took the summer after we graduated high school. We stayed at Black Rock Mountain State Park. We had one our first fights trying to put the tent up but it ended up being the best camping trip. We hiked to many different waterfalls, had picnics in some of the most beautiful places, and had so many laughs. We live being nature and just getting to be with each other.
What would you do with $20,000?We would finally move into our first home together. We lived together for 4 years during college in an apartment but had to move out after COVID 19 and rent inflations. We had to go long distance and move back in with our parents to save up money. Long drives and only getting to see each other on the weekends after 8 years together becomes really hard and goodbyes are more tearful every time. Our dream is to just be together again no matter where we end up.
