We come from different countries, cultures, and languages, but love crossed every border to bring us together against all odds.
We would like to thank you for supporting Asia and Mehmet in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Our love story began just like every good one does: in a nightclub. Mehmet first saw me at one bar but hesitated to say hi. Then, by fate or luck, we both ended up at another later that night and he knew he couldn’t leave without my number. It started as a slow burn, but once I agreed to coffee, everything changed. Even with a language barrier, we felt instantly connected and understood each other without all the words.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Visiting Mehmet’s family in Türkiye was truly special for both of us. He shared his roots and his story with me, and I gained a deeper understanding of who he is. Sharing meals and visiting the places of his childhood memories made me realize just how unlikely our meeting was. It made our bond even stronger, and it’s easily our favorite memory together.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20,000, we’d support Mehmet’s family who are still recovering from the 2023 earthquake, helping rebuild and heal. We’d open a coffee shop to share his culture with our city, creating a warm community space. And with some leftover, we’d create a cozy garden oasis at home for our cats and ourselves to relax and grow together.
