Connect How did your love story begin?

Our love story began when I was makeup-free, rocking half an Afro mid-braid takedown—definitely not my usual “first impression” look. Fresh out of serious relationships, we were both rediscovering ourselves. My sister was dating his best friend, so fate played matchmaker. He gave me a tattoo, and somehow in between the ink and the laughs, we got under each other’s skin—in the best way. Since then, it’s been love, healing, and a whole lot of adventure.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of our favorite memories is the day he proposed—Thanksgiving, with family I hadn’t seen in years all around. I’m usually super nosy, so the fact that he pulled it off without me suspecting a thing? Legendary. I turned around and there he was, down on one knee, surrounded by love, food, and shocked smiles. It was the most beautiful surprise, and the perfect moment to say yes to forever.

What would you do with $20,000?

We deserve $20,000 because we’re a team in love and in life—raising four amazing kids and always being the ones others count on. From helping friends to supporting family, we give from the heart. This money would help us catch up on what we need and continue being that light for others. Our bond is strong, our love is real, and our impact reaches beyond just us—it touches everyone around us. We’re not perfect, but we’re perfectly meant for each other.
