We always have the best time, no matter where we are or who we are with. Getting together later in life makes us appreciate each other more.
We would like to thank you for supporting Aimee & Ron Gabbert in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We met in 1991 though a mutual friend, who have all remained friends. Ron and I both took different paths, both marrying others at a young age, had kids, and went on with life. Ron’s first wife passed away and I got divorced. We both dated other people and after several more years we got together, married within a year and love every minute of it. We both cherish each other more than we ever expected, living life to the fullest!!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Driving to Tennessee for the birth of our grandson. It was the first road trip we took together and were so excited to be there together to welcome him into the world. I love his daughter as if she was my own and he loves my two sons and grandson as if they were his. A blended family can be difficult, even if the children are older. We are truly thankful and appreciative for what we have.
What would you do with $20,000?If we were to win the contest, we for sure would go on a family vacation. We have talked about having all of our kids and grandkids in the same place having a great time, but have not had a chance to do so. My two boys are in the military, one just getting out and his daughter’s husband just got out a little bit ago. It’s nice we are finally starting to be able to visit and spend some time together. Life is too short, unfortunately we learn that sometimes too quickly. We cherish every moment.
